Information about the group: The Utah Baroque Ensemble, directed by Martha Sargent, is a ~35 singer auditioned choir that specializes in early sacred music from the Renaissance and Baroque eras, but which also sings modern classical-style choral music. Recent highlights include a 2008 concert tour of Italy and Switzerland which included a performance at St Peter’s Cathedral in Rome, and a 2010 television recording for a BYU project on the writings of John which will air on BYUTV sometime this year. See http://www.utahbaroque.org for more details about the ensemble.

More information about the concert: This concert features music from as early as the 16th century to music as recent as the last decade, with songs in English, Latin, and German. Ten of the thirteen pieces will be sung a cappella. The other three have organ and/or string accompaniment. The chapel may well fill up, so you may want to get there 10 minutes before the 7:30 pm start time to get a good seat. The performance will last just over an hour.
