Grand Canyon Trip pictures, part 3 - Navajo Bridge and Wire Pass Slot Canyon

After our Wednesday morning hike, we drove to Page, Arizona. This is the Navajo Bridge, along the way. There are actually two bridges, side by side: a historic bridge built in 1929 (now for walking only), and a more modern bridge for car travel.

The view from the walking bridge.

The Visitor's Center had just about the most artistic bathrooms that I've ever seen.

We spent the night in Page, then started the "Slot Canyons" part of our trip. The next morning we tried to get tickets to be able to hike to "The Wave". We were unsuccessful in the daily lottery but got to do a couple of extra slot canyons instead, which made up for it. There were probably 60 people there all trying to get one of the 10 passes they hand out each day.

This was on the way to our first slot canyon, actually close to where The Wave is. It's the "Wire Pass" slot canyon. We unfortunately ended up being quite short on time because we didn't plan for it to take as long as it did to get to the trailhead (very badly washboarded dirt road for 5-10 miles), and because I led us the wrong direction for a ways once we got there.
